The start of operation of the largest national project in East Azerbaijan

According to the Mehr news agency, citing the public relations of the East Azerbaijan Management and Planning Organization, Haider Fathzadeh said in an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the visit of the head of water, agriculture and environment affairs of the country’s planning and budget organization to the Qizqalae Si and Khasham Chayi dams: The construction of Qizqalae Si Dam started in 2005 and was completed in 1402.

Stating that the volume of this dam is 62 million cubic meters and it is located 12 km from Khodaafrin Dam, he added: Water will be transferred through the main channels up to 140 km in East Azarbaijan and Ardabil provinces to supply the water needed by the agricultural sector.

Fathzadeh listed the promotion of added value in the agricultural sector, development of land based on new technologies, optimal water management and provision of water needs in the agricultural sector and electricity generation as the main goals of the construction of Qizqala Si Dam.

Physical progress of 70% of Khasham tea dam

The head of the East Azerbaijan Management and Planning Organization also explained about the situation of the Khasham Chayi dam: This dam was built in 2005 to provide drinking water to the city of Kalibar and the villages of the water transmission route at a distance of 15 kilometers from Kalibar, and currently it has more than 70% physical progress.

He added: With the follow-ups to secure the required credit, it is expected that this dam will be completed and put into operation in 1403.
